Modern chain lubrication in practice

When combined with a suitable method of application chain oils can increase the service life of plate-link chains even under rough working conditions. This article describes the nature of chain oils and why chains should be lubricated. It ends with a report on the introduction of a system for chain lubrication at the Portland-Zementwerk Gebr. Wiesböck & Co. GmbH in southern Bavaria and on the experience of five years’ operation.
